Juli Inkster Meadow Club Collegiate: Stanford defends its title by three shots

The normally 54-hole tournament only made it 36 holes after rain impacted the final round

The Stanford Women’s Golf Team, ranked No. 1 nationally, finished 13-under 563 to successfully defend its title at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational. The rain-affected tournament was called off after 36 holes, ultimately granting the team a three-shot victory margin at Meadow Club in Fairfax, CA.

The team carded rounds of 286-277 while battling through swirling winds and persistent rain all morning and early into the afternoon.

Washington carded rounds of 286-280 to register a runner-up finish at 10-under, followed by Southern California with 281-289 for a third-place finish at 6-under.

In the individual competition, Camille Boyd, a senior at Washington, carded rounds of 68-68 to tie with Oregon State sophomore Kyra Ly, who shot rounds of 67-69. Together, they shared the title at 8-under 136.

Stanford freshman Paula Martin Sampedro carded rounds of 71-67 to register a solo third-place finish at 6-under 138.

Before the tournament was called off, Stanford sophomore Megha Ganne was on the verge of securing her second win of the season. She took the lead on the back nine after starting the day four strokes behind. However, Ganne ultimately finished in a tie for 5th place with back-to-back rounds of 70-70, resulting in a total score of 4-under par.

The win saw Boyd jump to No. 65 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Rankings

During the final round, greens began to puddle with water, creating impossible putting paths for golfers. Tournament officials decided to suspend play officially and announce the tournament final, reverting to 36 holes for the official results.
