Jonathan De Los Reyes wins Fairfield City Amateur

St, Mary's College senior posted 67 in the final round to edge 2015 SCGA Mid-Amateur champ Jeff Wilson

FAIRFIELD, Calif. — St. Mary's College senior Jonathan De Los Reyes carded a final-round 67 at Rancho Solano Golf Club on Sunday to edge SCGA Mid-Amateur reigning champion Jeff Wilson at the Fairfield City Amateur Championship. With the first round being played at the more difficult Paradise Valley Golf Club, Christian Nicolini was low for the day at even-par 72, with Wilson trailing one behind at 73 and De Los Reyes three back at 75. But once players hit the course on Sunday at Rancho Solano, eight under-par rounds were posted, including De Los Reyes' 67 that pushed him to victory. Wilson, a native of Fairfield who has an impressive track record of amateur accomplishments, shot 70 in his final round but came up just short of tying De Los Reyes. Nicolini fired 73 on day two and settled for third place, while defending champion Aaron Beverly grabbed fourth place thanks to a Sunday 69. In the Senior Division, Dennis Younglove of Davis scored a one-shot win over Terry Leach, who led by one over Greg O'Malley after the first round. O'Malley, of Rohnert Park, shot 78 on Sunday and took fourth place.
