DES MOINES, Iowa — Jon Brown shot a final-round 70 at Waveland Golf Course to cruise to his second straight Des Moines City Amateur Championship.
The win wasn't just Brown's second in a row, but the 11th of his career, including seven in a row from 2005 to 2011.
Leading the pack alongside Will McDonald after two rounds, Brown made virtually no mistakes on Sunday. His round included 16 pars and two birdies, while McDonald shot two-over on the back side to post one-over par 73.
Scot Cook, who entered the last day just a stroke behind Brown and McDonald, also carded 73 in the third round and finished in solo third place.
