BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Jim Scorse had no trouble winning a tournament he is certainly accustomed to winning at this point in his amateur career. Scorse, a native of Rochester, fired consecutive rounds of 69 at Deerfield Country Club to win his sixth career Rochester Mid-Amateur. He captured the title by six shots over James Mason, who posted back-to-back even-par 72s. Rob Smith and Kevin Thornton tied for third place six shots behind Mason at six-over par 150, with Smith firing 71 on Saturday to jump into the top-three.
