Ji, Humphreys win Junior Orange Bowl International Titles

Jerry Ji won the Boys' Division by seven-strokes while Lily May Humphreys took home the Girls' Division title by nine shots

CORAL GABLES, FL (December 30, 2016) - Jerry Ji left little doubt that he was the most dominant player in the field this week at the Boys' Junior Orange Bowl International Amateur. Ji, from the Netherlands, sprinted to the lead with a 7-under 64 in the first round and never looked back on his way to a 16-under finish and a seven-stroke victory. In the final round at the Biltmore Golf Course Ji didn't have to do much but play steady golf and he did just that with a 1-under 70. On the front side Ji birdied once and bogeyed once before finishing in fine form with a closing birdie. Pierre Pineau (France) took second with a 9-under showing, with an 8-under tally Adrien Dumont de Chassart (Belgium) was third while in a tie for fourth it was Rasmus Hojgaard (Denmark) and Hiroshi Tai (Signapore) at 7-under. GIRLS' DIVISION Lily May Humphreys entered the final round with a big lead as well and she left little to doubt on Saturday finishing 9-under and nine ahead of the field to win the Girls' Junior Orange Bowl International Amateur. From England, Humphreys picks up her second signature win of the season following her title at the English Women's Amateur. During the final round Humphreys carded her only over-par round of the week, a 2-over 73, but despite some early struggles in the round she found her grove during the second half of the round and finished her tournament with a birdie. Goto Miyu (Japan) was second at level-par, at 1-over in third it was Cory Lopez (Mexico), the 2-over Pauline Roussin-Bouchard (France) was fourth while Valeria Pacheco (Puerto Rico) and Anne Yu (USA) shared fifth at 6-over.
