Jaspers, Aughtry win by two at Mid Pines Invitational

Mid Pines CEO Kelly Miller and his playing partner Macon Moye took home the senior division title

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C — A field of 108 Amateur golfers from 14 states teed off Saturday, February 7, 2015 in the 16th Annual Mid Pines Invitational Golf Tournament at Mid Pines Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina. This is a very popular team event which annually attracts a strong field of golfers and is played on our Donald Ross Designed Golf Course. We offer two divisions (Open & Senior) that has become one of the most prestigious team events to kick off the tournament season in the southeast. Joe Jaspers from Huntersville, North Carolina and Jim Aughtry, from Concord, North Carolina, won the Open Division with a score of 68-67-135. Chris Cassetta from Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Gary Robinson finished in second place with a score of 70-67-137. Steve and Chase Liebler, both from Irmo, South Carolina finished in third place with a score of 66-72-138. Kyle Nathan and Andrew Vitt, from Glenview, Illinois and Walker Taylor and Jackson Taylor from Wilmington, North Carolina, tied for fourth place with a 36-hole total of 139. Kelly Miller from Southern Pines, North Carolina and Macon Moye from Charlotte, North Carolina, won the Senior Division with a 36-hole total of 65-70-135. Pete Detemple from California, Maryland and Vance Welch, from Beltsville, Maryland finished in second place with a score of 70-68-138. David Tolley and Mike Krulick from Roanoke, Virginia and Clay Uselton and James McCord both from Tullahoma, Tennessee tied for third place with a 36-hole total of 140.
