Jared Cornish wins San Antonio Mid-Amateur

Jared Cornish made an ace during Saturday's opening-round, then captured a two-shot win on Sunday

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Jared Cornish made an ace during Saturday's opening-round of the San Antonio Mid-Amateur Championship, then captured a two-shot win on Sunday. His hole-in-one on the par-3 14th hole helped him post 5-under 67 on day one, which sat him two back of first-round leader JJ Wall. But Wall struggled to a 76 in the final round, while Cornish fired 4-under 68, which included no bogeys, to secure a two-stroke victory over three runner-up finishers at 7-under 137. The second-place group was led by Adam Lowe, who birdied three of his last four holes to card a 68 and get inside the top-two. Brian Marchiori posted 68-69 to join the runner-up trio while Mark Miller overcame two early bogeys to shoot two-under 70 and also finish tied for second.
