OOLTEWAH, TN (May 26, 2017) -- Jack Hall is having quite a year.
The Savannah, Georgia resident has played a busy schedule of senior amateur golf, and racked up a string of six top-10 finishes in 2017 alone, placing him 5th in the AmateurGolf.com Senior Player Rankings. Hall won the Timuquana Cup earlier this month, and also finished runner-up in the Low Country and Florida Azalea.
Today Hall posted an impressive 35 stableford points at The Honors Course to take a 1 point lead over four players: Preston Edmondson, Chris Hall (we're not sure if they are related), Alan Thielemann, and Adam Kugler.
Hall's points total in tougher round two conditions was tied with the highest (that's good in stableford) of the day with Vern Spurlock of Texas who vaulted himself inside the top 20 after a tough start in round one. We're pleased to report that both Hall and Spurlock are regular members of the AmateurGolf.com website.
In the Super-Senior division, Bill Leonard is tied at the top with former PGA Tour player and golf announcer Steve Melnyk. Both golfers posted identical rounds both days with 32 on Friday and impressive 37 stableford points today.
With rainy conditions expected for Sunday's final round, the tee times have been moved up with players starting off the first and 10th tee. It should make for an interesting finish. We hope they get it in.
