Rubén Rivas McHugh stood on the 18th tee at Edzell Golf Club level with the clubhouse leaders, needing one more birdie to claim the Scottish Under 14 Open Championship. The 14-year-old from Tralee Golf Links delivered.
McHugh found the green in two on the par-five closer, then rolled in a five-footer for birdie after leaving his eagle putt short. The final-hole heroics gave him a closing 70 and a 138 total, four-under par, good for a one-shot victory in the 36-hole event.
