Byrne secured her second collegiate title in just two weeks, carding impressive rounds of 66-63-68 to claim victory with a commanding nine-stroke lead over Melanie Green from South Florida, who accumulated a total score of 10-under with her rounds of 70-67-69, securing the runner-up position in the tournament.
Byrne’s victory came hot on the heels of her triumph at the Pat Bradley Invitational on October 16th. Subsequently, Byrne represented Ireland in the World Amateur Team Championship in Abu Dhabi, where she posted a total score of even-par 288, securing a tied-31st finish.
In the team competition, The Hurricanes’, who hosted the annual invitational, recorded an impressive 54-hole team score of 837, good for 27-under par. This score now ranks second in the program's record book for a 54-hole performance, with only the 833 achieved by the 2018-19 Hurricane team at the Schooner Fall Classic surpassing it.
As a team, Miami notched a field-leading 66 birdies, with 18 of those being contributed by Sara Byrne.
Oklahoma secured a second-place finish, posting a total score of 17-under 847 after posting rounds of 275-288-284.
