Hawaii Hilo cruises to fourth straight PacWest title behind Dylan Bercan

Wire-to-wire dominance and a second straight medalist performance power the Vulcans to a record-extending win

No. 28 Hawai‘i Hilo left little doubt, rolling to its fourth straight PacWest men’s golf title in the most decisive fashion yet.

The Vulcans led wire-to-wire—by 10 after round one, 14 after round two, and 18 at the finish—closing at 7-under, the second-lowest team total in conference history. It marks Hilo’s seventh PacWest title, the most in conference history, and they were the only team to finish under par, well clear of runner-up Menlo (+11) and Westmont (+12).

Dylan Bercan repeated as individual champion, becoming the tournament’s back-to-back medalist. The fifth-year senior set the tone early and never let up, finishing at 8-under 208 (68-70-70), also the second-lowest medalist total in PacWest history.

Vanguard sophomore Kyle Koski kept the pressure on but ultimately finished solo second at 3-under 213 (70-70-73). Jacobus Brakkee (Jessup) and Jose Carlos Liocon (Westmont) tied for third at even par.

Hawai‘i Hilo’s depth proved decisive. Redshirt senior Jacob Torres placed fifth at 1-over 217 (70-77-70), while Daniel Mamorstein (Dominican) and Nicolas Rocha (Westmont) followed at 2-over 218.

The Vulcans placed three players inside the top 10, led by individual champion Dylan Bercan. Torres added a top-five finish, and junior Katsuhiro Yamashita closed strong to tie for eighth at 3-over 219 (72-76-71), underlining Hilo’s all-around dominance.
