Guadalajara Senior Invitational: John Brellenthin wins with ease

Brellenthin shot 16-over through four rounds to win by six shots

John Brellenthin, a member at Dallas National Golf Club in Dallas, Tex., shot a total score of 16-over 304 following his rounds of 76-75-74-79 to register a comfortable win by a six-shot margin at Guadalajara Country Club in Guadalajara, Jal., Mexico.

Jerry Hudgings, a former winner at the Texas Super Senior in 2016 from Hollytree Country Club in Tyler, Tex., carded rounds of 76-79-78-77 for a runner-up finish at a total score of 22-over 310.

Brellenthin, a winner at the Minnesota Senior Amateur in 2021, entered the final round with an eight-stroke advantage over Hudgings. Despite shooting a 7-over 79 in the final round, he emerged victorious with a six-shot margin. His third-round score of 74 stood as the tournament's lowest.

In the Legends division, Chuck Vuytowecz from Pauma Valley Country Club in CA, shot a total score of 35-over 323, securing a two-shot victory over Gregory Booking from Natchez Golf Club at Duncan Park, Miss.

Booking finished as the runner-up with a score of 37 over 325 in the tournament. Vuytowecz carded rounds of 82-81-79-81 while Booking recorded scores of 81-78-85-81 during the competition.

The Championship division had 17 golfers participating, while the Legends division had 23 participants in the tournament.
