Glass City Invitational: Gators conquer Inverness to win the team title

Florida won the team title, while Amanda Sambach of Virginia won the individual competition by four shots.

Florida won the 2023 Glass Invitational at the iconic Inverness Club in Toledo, OH.

The Gators led throughout day one and teed off today in the lead after round two was stopped due to darkness.

After a bumpy start in round three that had Florida dropping as far down as 4th, UF rallied on the back nine, shooting 2-under to leap back and secure the team title.

The Gators finished 4-over, six shots clear of the second-place finisher Virginia, who finished at 10-over.

Michigan State finished in third place at 14-over, South Florida finished in fourth place at 15-over, and Michigan finished in fifth place at 17-over.

In the individual competition, Amanda Sambach of Virginia finished in first place by four shots, shooting 8-under with rounds of 72-68-68. She shot a final round bogey-free 4-under 68 to hold off the rest of the field.

Katie Lu of Michigan State, Maisie Fuller of Florida, and Melanie Green of South Florida all finished T2 and runner-ups to Sambach at 4-under.

Jackie Lucena of Florida finished in solo fifth place at 3-under.
