The Yellow Jackets defeated Wake Forest, 3-2 on Monday at the Country Club of North Carolina to win the ACC Championship for the 19th time in program history. The win came a day after Tech secured the No. 1 seed by winning the stroke play portion of the tournament by 16 shots. The Yellow Jackets became the first team to win the championship after finishing first in medal play.

Steelman delivered the championship point by making a 27-foot downhill birdie putt on the 16th hole to close out McLauchlan, 3 and 2.
But Wake Forest countered with wins by Boyd Owens over Connor Howe (2&1) and Scotty Kennon over Hiroshi Tai (3&2) to tie things up at 2-2, setting up Steelman’s clutch putt and the exciting finish.
The Yellow Jackets will now await their destination at one of six NCAA Regional sites which will be announced on May 3.
