Georgia and Vanderbilt were tied at 20-under after 36 holes of the tournament, but the Bulldogs' final round of 8-under 280 proved to be the difference in securing a four-stroke win over its SEC rival.
Senior Trent Phillips' final round 66, which included an eagle on the par-5 18th hole, paced the Bulldogs final round charge on Tuesday. Phillips birdied four of his first six holes on the day and turned in 34. He was 2-under on his inward nine before rolling in an eagle on his finishing hole.
Georgia also counted rounds of 71 by Maxwell Ford and Buck Brumlow along with an even-par 72 by Ben Van Wyk.
Clemson's Jacob Bridgeman earned medalist honors with a tournament-record score of 16-under 200 (67-66-67), finishing six shots clear of Phillips while Van Wyk placed third at 8-under 208.🏆 CHAMPION 🏆@JacobBridgeman1 ties the tournament record of 16-under-par to win the Linger Longer Invitational Individual Championship‼️ pic.twitter.com/h0Y54CukY7
