Georgia commit Drew Woolworth wins Grapevine Amateur

Woolworth turned a three-way tie into a two-shot victory, closing in 67 to win at Silverado’s North Course

Drew Woolworth of Lake Oswego, Oregon—verbally committed to the University of Georgia—closed with a five-under 67 to win the Grapevine Amateur at Silverado Golf Club’s North Course.

Woolworth finished at 14-under 202 (70-65-67), edging Zude Xu by two strokes and improving on his fifth-place finish from last year. The win came after Woolworth began the final round tied at nine-under with Xu and Dianchao Wu, but separated himself with a decisive closing run.

Xu, from Rancho Palos Verdes, California, posted rounds of 68-67-69 to take second at 12-under, while Wu finished third at seven-under (67-68-74).

The victory continues a strong 2025 season for Woolworth, who has played 10 ranked events and recorded four top-10 finishes. Highlights include a runner-up at the Sacramento Junior Championship in April—one shot behind Evan Liu—and a fourth-place finish at the Nike Junior Invitational in July.

The Grapevine Amateur marked the seventh event on the Troon Saguaro Amateur Series, a world-ranked circuit founded in 2017 that runs eight tournaments this season. Next up is the Sonoran Amateur— the penultimate stop—scheduled for January 2–4 at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Arizona.
