George Washburn III posted a pair of sub-par rounds to finish 4-under and ahead of the field by six-strokes

ROCKVILLE, MD (October 5, 2016) -- George Washburn III posted a pair of sub-par rounds to finish 4-under and ahead of the field by six-strokes at the Washington Metropolitan Senior. Playing at Norbeck Country Club Washburn III got his tournament best, first round 3-under 69 off to a torrid start with three consecutive birdies. From their Washburn III had to do some work to remain 3-under as he birdied an additional three holes, including No. 18, while also bogeying three. In the second round it was a 1-under 71 for the overnight leader. For the second consecutive day Washburn III birdied the opening and closing holes, in between there were a pair of bogeys and a birdie scattered on the scorecard. Tim Vigotsky finished second at 2-over, Barry Flaer was third at 4-over while Skip Tendall and Greg Henry posted 5-over to share fourth.
