ST. AUGUSTINE, FL. (Oct 22, 2010) -- Domenico Geminiani of Turin, Italy and Christopher Kennedy of Sarasota, Florida lead the St. Augustine Amateur with 2-under 70-par stroke play. At the end of 18 holes, both players finished with 68-stroke score and atop the leader board.
Geminiani, 14, shot 32-36 for a 68-stroke to finish Friday's play. Geminiani shot 5 birdies and 10 pars, with 4 of his 5 birdies during his last 6 holes.
Kennedy, 22, matched Geminiani with 32-36 finishes. Kennedy completed the back 9 holes at 1-over par, but finished strong with 3 birdies to tie Geminiani.
The talented competition features 13 players trailing Geminiani and Kennedy by no more than 3 strokes. Jeffrey Pearce Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida finds himself currently in 3rd place at 1-under par. Pearce Jr. found his swing on the front 9 holes, as he sank 3 birdies and shot 2-under par.

The winner of the tournament will receive the John C. Jennison III Tournament Cup. Jennison, founder of the Amateur and former First Tee Director, passed away earlier in the year and will be honored with the trophy in his name.
To conclude the day Ryan Blair from Kansas City, MO won the long drive contest held at the conclusion of the first rounds play. His 313 yard drive bettered Greg Carrier (308) and MJ Maguire (303).
