Florida Gators Women's Invitational: Arizona cruises to a 16 shot win

Pimmada Wongthanavimok of Arizona and Pimpisa Sisutham of UCF finished as co-medalists at 6-under

The Arizona women's golf team dominated the Florida Gators Women's Invitational at The Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla., finishing at 8-under and beating the field by 16 shots. 

The Wildcats were a model of consistency, shooting rounds of 278-277-277 and going wire-to-wire to get the victory. They shot a final round 3-under 277. 

Clemson finished in solo second place at 8-over, host school Florida finished in solo third place at 12-over, and Ole Miss finished in solo fourth place at 13-over.

UCF finished in solo fifth place at 15-over, and North Carolina and Michigan finished T6 at 22-over.

In the individual competition, Pimmada Wongthanavimok of Arizona and Pimpisa Sisutham of UCF finished as co-medalists at 6-under to finish three shots better than the field.

Wongthanavimok shot a final-round 4-under 66 after two rounds of 1-under 69 to start the tournament. Sisutham was the first-round leader after a 5-under 65, but a second-round 1-over 71 prevented her from pulling away. She shot a final-round 2-under 68.

Wongthanavimok is currently ranked No. 230, and Sisutham is currently ranked No. 110 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Rankings.

Maisie Filler of Florida and Chloe Holder of Clemson finished T3 at 3-under. Filler shot a final-round 4-under 66 to propel nine spots up the leaderboard in the final 18 holes.

Carolina Melgrati of Arizona finished in solo fifth place at 2-under.

Five Arizona golfers finished in the top 15 to lead the Wildcats to a commanding victory. Arizona led the tournament in par-3 and par-4 scoring over the course of 54 holes. The Wildcats led by eleven strokes after the second round and extended their lead as one of only two teams in the field to break par in the third round.

The 16-stroke victory is the program's biggest team win since winning the 2020 Wildcat Invitational by 22 strokes.
