Estorga builds Texas North Mid-Am lead with second-round 67

Anthony Estorga will take a two-shot advantage into the final round at Waterchase Golf Club

Dallas’ Anthony Estorga carded a stellar 5-under 67 in Saturday’s second round of the North Mid-Amateur at Waterchase Golf Club. He leads by two strokes over Fort Worth’s Jeff Murray heading into Sunday’s final round. Estorga’s 5-under 67 included an eagle on the par-5 third hole and five birdies against just two bogeys. His lead is two shots over Murray, who carded a second-round 1-under 71 in chilly, windy conditions. Murray carded four birdies on his round. First-round leader Mike Lohner and Josh Irving sit in a tie for third place, three shots back of Estorga. Lohner continues to be the Low Mid-Master, who is a player 40 years or older, after his second-round 73. Lewis Stephenson is two shots back of Lohner, while Rob Couture is three shots back heading into Sunday’s final Round.
