The finals at the Women's Western Amateur finals have been set and it will feature No. 1 Emilee Hoffman and No. 10 Tristyn Nowlin.
Hoffman, a rising junior at Texas, advanced to Saturday's final at Mistwood Golf Club first with a 6&5 win in the morning quarterfinals over No. 8 Brigitte Thibault of Fresno State before besting the five-seed, Katherine Patrick of Virginia 1 up in the semifinals.
Illinois' Nowlin advanced by way of a 3&2 triumph over Missouri commit and two-seed Brianne Bolden in the quarterfinals and then handled Canadian National Development Team member Ellie Szeryk, the 19-seed, 2&1 in the semifinals.
Top-seed Emilee Hoffman survived a pair of matches on Thursday to advance to the quarterfinals at the Women's Western Amateur hosted by Mistwood Golf Club.
Hoffman, a rising junior at Texas, opened her day with a difficult 1 up win over No. 32 Alexis Miesotwski in the Round of 32 before she bested 16-seed and 2016 finalist Mikhaela Fortuna 4&3 in the Round of 16.
After her two wins on the first day of match play Hoffman is now slated to face No. 8 Brigitte Thibault of Fresno State on Friday morning.
Thibault moved on with a 21-hole marathon victory in her first match against 25-seed Lauren Chappell of SMU before besting No. 9 Maggie Ashmore of Augusta State in the Round of 16 4&2.
