Beyond the prestige of topping one of amateur golf's strongest season-long competitions, players are also chasing valuable professional tournament invitations and USGA championship exemptions.
On the men's side, defending EAGS Cup race winner Tyler Watts, an incoming freshman at University of Tennessee from Huntsville, Alabama, continues to lead with 31.84 points, but his margin couldn't be much slimmer. Guatemala's Gabriel Palacios Morataya sits just 0.01 point behind at 31.84 (rounded), making the two essentially deadlocked heading into the final events. Watts has earned his total in just two tournaments, highlighted by a 24.03-point performance with a win at the Northeast Amateur and another worth 7.81 (T18 at the Sunnehanna), while Palacios Morataya has built his challenge through three outstanding finishes worth 15.52 for his second place finish at the Sunnehanna, plus 8.36, and 7.95 points for his top-20 finishes at the Northeast and Trans-Miss.

Behind them, Ryan Ford (29.81), Grant Roscich (26.77), and Jake Birdwell (26.06) remain well within striking distance. In fact, only 5.78 points separate first from fifth, meaning one big finish could completely reshape the leaderboard.
The Trans-Miss Amateur produced the week's biggest mover as champion Parker Sands vaulted an astonishing 183 places into seventh. Sands earned 20.19 points for his victory, giving him 23.81 overall despite playing just two Elite Amateur Golf Series events. Sam Udovich also made a significant leap, climbing 43 spots into ninth, while JP Odland cracked the top 10 after moving up nine places. Meanwhile, Trevor Gutschewski has quietly assembled 25.23 points across four events, proving consistency can be just as effective as winning when chasing the season-long title.
The women's race is every bit as competitive. Sarah Lim moved into the top spot with 37.17 points, compiling four consistently strong finishes. Lim, the Princeton Women's Golf standout from Saratoga, California, recorded Top-5s back to back over the past two events at both the North & South and Women's Western. She also had a Top-10 at the Sea Island Women's Am and a solid finish at the Southwestern Women's Am in Scottsdale. Just behind is Mary Miller at 34.58 points, having accumulated nearly her entire total from two exceptional performances worth 20.00 (her win at the North & South) and 14.58 points (for her runner-up finish at the Southwestern Women's). The contrasting paths to the top—Lim's remarkable consistency versus Miller's two huge weeks—illustrate there is more than one formula for success in the Elite Amateur Cup.

The Women's Western Amateur dramatically tightened the race thanks to champion Kylee Choi, who surged 64 places into seventh after collecting 21.78 points for the victory. Combined with an earlier 6.86-point finish, Choi now owns 28.64 points and has thrust herself squarely into contention entering the final event. Scarlett Schremmer (33.84), Raegan Denton (31.42), and Mia Clausen (30.67) remain firmly in the hunt, with just 8.53 points separating first from fifth. Even more impressive, only 13.55 points cover the entire top 10, leaving plenty of room for movement before the Cup is decided at the LNGA Women's Amateur.
With the Western Amateur serving as the final men's Elite Amateur Cup event and the LNGA Amateur Championship closing out the women's schedule, neither race is anywhere near settled. Watts and Lim currently hold the advantage, but with significant WAGR points—and coveted professional and USGA exemptions—still available, virtually every player in the top 10 remains capable of making a championship-winning run over the season's final weeks.
