Eddie Gu of Ontario, Canada, went low when it mattered most, closing with a 69 to win the Orlando International Amateur at 10-under 205—two shots clear of the field.
It was the second straight week Gu lifted a trophy in Orlando. Just days earlier, he won the Orlando International Amateur Juniors (Boys 16–18) after surviving a four-man playoff. Gu recently joined Team Canada Golf and remains uncommitted to a college program, and he had a familiar face on the bag this week—his father.
Barry Zhang, a Harvard sophomore from China, finished runner-up at 8-under 207 after rounds of 69-67-71. Gu started Sunday tied with Zhang, but was simply steadier down the stretch, turning the final-round tie into a comfortable two-shot win.
The title adds another line to a strong 2025 season for Gu. He has now played 22 ranked events, picking up four wins and eight other top-10 finishes. Earlier this year, he set a tournament record at 9-under to win the AJGA AM Technical Solutions Junior at Southpointe in July, then followed it up with another victory at the Florida Junior Tour Labor Day Major in September.
