No. 29 Eastern Michigan held off a late challenge to claim a one-shot victory at the Silicon Valley Showcase, finishing at 8-over 860 (279-293-288) at Green Hills Country Club in Millbrae, California.
No. 50 California finished runner-up at 9-over 861 (280-288-293), with the two teams the only ones in the field to finish in single digits over par. Kansas State placed third at 26-over, well back of the leaders.
In the individual competition, EMU junior Baiyok Sukterm secured her first collegiate title, posting 3-under 210 (68-68-74) for a one-shot win.
California senior Adora Liu finished runner-up at 2-under 211 (70-71-70), with Sukterm and Liu the only players in the 58-player field to finish under par.
The result marked Eastern Michigan’s third team and individual sweep of the season, following earlier wins at The Southern and the Leadership & Golf Invitational, where senior Janae Leovao claimed medalist honours.
Eastern Michigan placed four players inside the top 20, led by Sukterm’s victory.
Senior Janae Leovao finished T-4 at 2-over 215 (70-73-72), while senior Jasmine Leovao placed T-13 at 6-over 219 (67-77-75) and junior Savannah de Bock finished T-16 at 8-over 221 (74-75-72).
In a tightly contested event, Eastern Michigan’s depth proved decisive, delivering another statement win in a season defined by consistency.
