Dutch Amateur: Yannick Malik comes from behind to win

Minouche Roijmans ran away from the field to win the Women's Division while Malik won the Men's Division.

Yannick Malik of Germany shot an 8-under 63 in the final round of the Dutch Amateur Championship to chase down Jensen Forrester of Great Britain to win by one shot.

Malik and Forrester both entered No. 17, tied in first place at 18-under and then both made birdies to send the tournament to No. 18 knotted up.

Malik then proceeded to drop down another birdie at the last for his eighth of the day and to secure the one-shot victory.

Malik finished 20-under par, while Forrester finished 19-under. Christian Hellwing of Germany finished in solo third place at 12-under, and Max Hopkins of England finished in solo fourth place at 11-under.

Malik, a rising sophomore at The University of Arizona, made 24 birdies, five bogeys, and one eagle for the week. Impressively, he made zero bogeys on the back nine through all four days, shooting 12-under on those 36 holes. He also did not make any double bogeys or worse, avoiding the blow-up hole.

Minouche Roijmans of Netherlands won the Women's Division in less dramatic fashion, shooting a 5-under total score and defeating the field by four shots.

Roijmans shot 68-71-71-69 to finish 5-under.

Anne Sterre Den Dunnen of Netherlands finished in solo second place at 1-under and was the only other golfer to finish under par.

Camille Banzet of France finished at even par and in solo third place.
