JUNO BEACH, FL (April 28, 2017) - Doug Hanzel held steady at 2-under and after starting the second round of the George L. Coleman Senior Invitational tied for the lead he now paces the field alone. Hanzel carded a Friday even-par 72 at Seminole Golf Club and he will carry a two-stroke advantage in Saturday's final round.
Hanzel is already in search of his third AmateurGolf.com Ranking win of the season after claiming the Florida Azalea Senior and Golfweek POY Classic/Natl Championship previously but he will have work cut out for him Saturday.
Brady Exber started the second round tied for the lead but shot a 2-over 74 so he is two back at even-par, Alan Fadel and Matt Sughrue are tied for third at 1-over while in fifth it is Patrick Tallent at 2-over.
Defending champion Tim Jackson is tied for sixth at 4-over.
ROUND ONE RECAP
Two of the most talented players in the senior game, Brady Exber and Doug Hanzel are leading the George L. Coleman Senior Invitational hosted by Seminole Golf Club. Both player shot first round 2-under 70's and they will carry a one shot lead into Friday's second round.
Hanzel is already in search of his third AmateurGolf.com Ranking win of the season after claiming the Florida Azalea Senior and Golfweek POY Classic/Natl Championship previously.
For Exber, he is looking for his first point finish this year in an AmateurGolf.com event. Last year he racked up points in nine events with his best showings coming in the form of tied second finishes at the British Senior Amateur and Carlton Woods Invitational.
With a 1-under 71 Matt Sughrue is in third place while Alan Fadel, Patrick Tallent, Chip Lutz are in fourth place after 1-over 73's. In 2016 Lutz was the lone amateur to make the cut at the U.S. Senior Open.
Defending champion Tim Jackson is tied for seventh at 2-over.
