Decker clinches Two Rivers Senior title on first playoff hole

Decker, 59, fell to a 4-over 76 in the final round, but was able to redeem himself on the first extra hole.

Chalk up another senior title for Keith Decker, who won the Two Rivers Senior Invitational on Tuesday. Decker, the 59-year-old from Martinsville, Va., fell to a 4-over 76 in the final round, his highest score of the tournament, but was able to redeem himself by winning on the first extra hole.

Decker opened with rounds of 71-70. He was leading entering the final round, but the next two men on the leaderboard out-scored him. Dave Pulk brought in a 74 and Robert Nussey a 75.

For Pulk, it was enough to tie Decker at 1 over for 54 holes. When the two went to sudden death, however, it was Decker who prevailed.

This is Decker’s second major senior title of the year after winning the Dave King Senior in July. He advanced to the final 32 at the U.S. Senior Amateur and was third at the Senior Porter Cup.

In the super senior flight, Jim Woodson won by a four-shot margin over Mike McDonald. Woodson was 8 over for the week.

Georgia Washburn III lapped the legends field with a 15-under total that included rounds of 66-66-69. The next best player, Tom Grady, was 1 under.
