SEASIDE, Calif. — Nine amateurs made the cut at the Northern California Open at Bayonet and Blackhorse Golf Club.
Leading all amateurs is San Jose State graduate Daniel Semmler of Belmont, California. Semmler followed up his 66 yesterday with a solid 1-under par 71. Semmler made bogey on three of his first four holes but found his form shortly after, making five birdies to shoot 4-under the rest of the way. Semmler sits in a tie for second, one shot back of former PGA Tour member Parker McLachlin.
Also playing well are UC-Santa Barbara sophomore Zach Smith and amateur David Games, both of whom sit at 3-under par after 36 holes. The final round will begin tomorrow at 7:30am.
