Daniel Chian finishes low-amateur at Long Beach Open

Long Beach State senior Daniel Chian finished at eight-under par total, 12 shots behind winner Greg Bruckner of Phoenix

LONG BEACH, Calif. — Long Beach State senior Daniel Chian fired four solid rounds during last weekend's Long Beach Open, tying for 35th place and finishing as the low amateur player. Chian, a native of Covina, Calif., opened with 71 and 70 to make the cut on the number before posting 68 and 71 on the weekend to grab a top-40 spot. Winner Greg Bruckner of Phoenix shot 63 on day one to eventually squeeze out a one-shot victory over Corey Gard and Martin Trainer.
