Dale Bouguennec medals at San Francisco City Senior

Dale Bouguennec carded a 73 at Presidio Golf Club to grab the No. 1 seed heading into next weekend's match play tournament

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Dale Bouguennec of Pleasant Hill shot 73 at Presidio Golf Club on Saturday to snag the No. 1 seed at the San Francisco City Senior Championship. Mark Miller of Brentwood also posted 73, but was edged by Bouguennec in a card-off. The reigning champion, Jim Williams of Orinda, was granted the No. 2 seed by virtue of his previous year's victory. He shot 80 in the qualifying round. Rounds of 81 and under got into the match play portion of the tournament, which will include 32 players. In the Super-Senior division, Herb Jensen of Carmichael who fired a beautiful round of 70, was medalist by five shots over Ron Johnson and Bob Olds who posted rounds of 75. And while Jensen came within a par-5 of his age, Olds, from Brentwood, once again proved that age is just a number -- he fired his age for about the thousandth time. Most golfers would be thrilled to do it once.
