Coronado City: Tuulik Goes Wire-to-Wire

The former UNLV player went deep twice at Coronado Golf Course

CORONADO, CA (November 12, 2017) - Christopher Tuulik (San Diego, CA) shot 66-67 to win the Coronado City Amateur Championship by four shots at Coronado Golf Course. Tuulik, a 23-year-old former UNLV college golfer, grabbed a two-shot lead after his opening round, and doubled it by again shooting the day's low round on Sunday. Cody Hall (Wildomar, CA) shot 70-67 to finish alone in second, while Daniel Lopez (Los Angeles, CA) was third at 69-70--139, six shots back. Drew Cooper (Saint Helena, CA) was fourth at 140 while three golfers--Scotland Schmidt (San Diego, CA), Michael Wong (Hong Kong) and Chad Hambright (Lake Elsinore, CA)--tied for fifth at 141. In the Senior Division, John Hoffman cruised to a six-shot win over Ken Kubis. Hoffman opened with a 69 to take a four-shot lead, then added a 73 for a 142 total. Anthony Ventura and Kirk Rose tied for third at 149, while three seniors tied for fifth at 150: Daryl Dyte, Jon Reilly, and Chris Berra.
