Ken Kinkopf of Dublin, Ohio shot even-par over 36 holes at Rattlesnake Ridge to win the Columbus Mid-Amateur by four shots

SUNBURY, Ohio — Ken Kinkopf of Dublin, Ohio shot even-par over 36 holes at Rattlesnake Ridge to win the Columbus Mid-Amateur by four shots. Kinkopf's opening-round 71 was the lowest score shot during the tournament by two shots, and came despite double-bogeying the par-four 4th hole and being one-over through nine holes. He rebounded with three birdies and a bogey on the back-side. Mark Angelou and Doug Smith came in second place, tied at four-over 148.
