Felipe Del Solar (LA) & Dustin Harris (LA), Ryan Clark (TX) & Broc Haymon (TX), and Gary & Eric Durbin (TX) each carded six-under par 65 to trail by a shot going into Friday’s second round.
51 two-man mid-amateur teams from 25 states and Canada are competing in the event. The field is loaded with top amateur golfing talent that includes over 800 appearances by the competitors in various USGA national championships. Average handicap of the 102 players is +3.1. The average team score for day one was 71.75, just slightly over par.
