Rick Stewart holds steady to capture North & South Senior Amateur

Rick Stewart of Park Ridge, Ill., came from two shots back in the final round to capture the 75th North & South Senior Amateur Championship, closing with a 1-under 71 for a one-shot victory at Pinehurst No. 4.

Stewart entered the finale chasing overnight leader Eddie Hargett, but his steady play proved enough as the contenders around him struggled to make a move. Rounds of 70-72-71 left Stewart at 3-under 213 and alone atop the leaderboard.
