Caleb Surratt returns to Tennessee for LIV golf

The accomplished amateur joined LIV back in January, forgoing his final two collegiate seasons at Tennessee

Eight events into his rookie LIV golf season, Caleb Surratt made his way back to his former collegiate home state in Tennessee. With his ninth tournament as a team member of Legion XIII taking place this weekend, Surratt is enjoying a weekend in the blistering heat of Nashville.

A former standout at the University of Tennessee, he was ranked in the top ten of the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings shortly before his departure to LIV.

Prior to this, he played in six PGA TOUR-affiliated events, including participation in the Visit Knoxville Open on the Korn Ferry Tour and a Monday qualifier into the Farmers Insurance Open, both in 2023.

In his eight events on LIV, his best finish is a solo 12th in Las Vegas. Team-wise, Surratt has been able to notch two wins, including his debut at Mayakoba alongside teammate Jon Rahm.

Surratt joined the likes of David Puig, Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra, and James Piot as elite amateurs making the leap to LIV before earning their PGA Tour cards.

Lopez-Chacarra and Puig both join Surratt at LIV Nashville this weekend. Former U.S. Amateur Champion James Piot was relegated at the end of 2023 after an unsuccessful season.

David Puig was recently named an Olympic team member of Spain by making the cut at the U.S. Open.

Puig has appeared on both the LIV and Asian Tour, fighting for Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points, including a win at the 2024 IRS Prima Malaysia Open.
