Columbus Amateur: Match play set for Tuesday

This year's event is being played at the second-longest course in Ohio, Northstar Golf Club

The Columbus (Ohio) Amateur, restricted to male Ohio Golf Association members, got underway today at Northstar Golf Club. Today's 18-hole qualifier will set up two days of match play to determine champions of the Championship and Senior divisions.

NorthStar Golf Club is a private, John Cook-designed 18-hole layout that stretches to 7516 yards from the tips, making it the second-longest course in the state. Founded in 2007, NorthStar has hosted the 2013 U.S. Amateur Qualifier and the 2015 and 2016 Ohio Public Golf Championships. It has also been the home of the Ohio High School Boys Golf Division 2 or 3 Championship since 2009.
