Burleson redeems himself with Minnesota Mid-Am title

A year ago, Justin Burleson was runner-up in this event. On Tuesday, he prevailed.

A year after coming in second in an intense Minnesota Mid-Amateur duel, Justin Burleson has redeemed himself with the title. Burleson finished a week at Bearpath Golf & Country Club in Eden Prairie, Minn., with an even-par total that left him two shots ahead of the next-best player.

Burleson was consistent on a week where no player went exceedingly low. He fired rounds of 70-71-75.

Remarkably, despite winning, Burleson didn’t score a single birdie in the final round. Instead, he had 13 pars and just three bogeys.

Behind Burleson, Tony Vincelli finished second with his 2-over total that included back-to-back closing rounds of 73.

Three players tied for third at 5 over, including Erik Bredesen, Joel Johnson and Jerry Rose.
