SALINA, KS (August 14, 2018) - For the third time in his career Bryan Norton has won the Kansas Senior Amateur. Norton, 10-under, lapped the field winning by eight-strokes and in the process setting new records for scoring total and margin of victory.
Teeing it up at Salina Country Club, Norton combined rounds of 67-65, playing the two rounds in nearly flawless fashion. Over the course of 36-holes Norton birdied 11-times versus just a lone bogey on the 17th hole of the first round.
Norton got his tournament off to a quick start on Monday with birdies on each of the first three holes on his way to a 4-under 67.
In Tuesday's final round Norton got off to a similar start with four birdies on the front nine before adding two more birdies on the second nine for good measure.
Michael Rack was a distant second at 2-under while Mark Addington, Mark Elliot and Jeff Reich shared third at 1-under.
In the Super Senior Division Gregory Goode playing on his home course handled the field was ease firing an 8-under two day tallying. Goode did most of his work on Monday opening with a 7-under 64 that included nine birdies and two bogeys.
After pars on the first two holes on Monday Goode rattled off birdies on the next four holes and five of the next 6 to take to command of the tournament.
John Beury and Frank Roth shared second at 2-under.
