The competition was fierce in today's final round at the Pennsylvania Mid-Am, with two players posting the lowest round of the tournament, but finishing just shy of champion Brett Young.
Both Matthew Mattare and PJ Acierno shot 3-under 67 at Huntingdon Valley Country Club, coming off identical first rounds of 73.
At even par, the pair held the.clubhouse lead as the first round co-leader Young was 2-over on the day, and 1-over for the tournament through 14 holes. But Young took advantage of the par-5 15th with birdie, and followed that with another at the par-4 16th before closing with a pair of pars and even par 70 on the day.
His 36-hole score of 139 gave Young a one stroke victory over Mattare and Acierno, with first round co-leader Tug Maude finishing solo fourth.
Jordan Kludowski and amateur legend Nathan Smith finished T5 at 3-over 143.
