Bev Hargraves survives playoff to win U.S. Senior Challenge

The 27th U.S. Senior Challenge at Harmony Club ended with a playoff between Bev Hargraves and John Hornbeck

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — The 27th U.S. Senior Challenge Individual Tournament at Harmony Club, Fort Collins, Colorado concluded today after four days of perfect weather and golf course conditions. This Jim Engh, par-72 design yielded many birdies and a few eagles to a talented field of Senior and Super Senior players from 24 different states. Bev Hargraves of Helena, Ark. won on the first playoff hole over John Hornbeck of Saratoga, Wyoming. Both players finished at 205, 9-under par. Third place went to Jack Slayton of Albuquerque, N.M. at 206. In the Super Senior Division, Mike Brummer of Rapid City, S.D. lapped the field with an outstanding score of 202, 14-under, with rounds of 67-66-69. Former Colorado golfer and current California resident Greg Mokler was second with a score of 209, 7-under par. Challenge “Man of the Year” Skip Snow of Dayton, Ohio was one back at 210 or 6 under par.
