Bethany Wu captures Women's Trans National title

UCLA rising sophomore ran away with the Women's Trans National

ST. LOUIS, MO (July 15, 2016) -- It was all Bethany Wu at the Women's Trans National. The rising UCLA sophomore finished 7-under and eight-strokes ahead of second place finisher Amanda Kim at Lake Forest Country Club. The best golf of the week for Wu came on the last two days as she carded rounds of 68-69 to follow up opening rounds of 70-74. Wu birdied five holes and bogeyed three during her tournament closing 3-under-par final day. The birdies for the 2016 Curtis Cup team member came on holes 1, 3, 9, 11 and 18. Wu, a three-time AJGA All-American, had an impressive freshman year at UCLA with her best finish coming at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic where she was tied for fourth. Missouri sophomore Amanda Kim was second at 1-over, Middle Tennessee senior Samanta Gotcher and Australian Elizabeth Elmassian shared third at 6-over while Elle Nachmann finished fifth with a 7-over 72-hole total.
