Bermuda Amateur: Phillips completes wire-to-wire win

Mark Phillips shot a final-round 77 and hung on to complete a wire-to-wire victory at the 2014 Bermuda Amateur Stroke Play Championship

SOUTHAMPTON, Bermuda (June 15, 2014) -- Mark Phillips shot a final-round 77 and hung on to complete a wire-to-wire victory at the 2014 Bermuda Amateur Stroke Play Championship. Playing the beautiful Port Royal Golf Course, Phillips, a former golfer at University of South Carolina-Beaufort, shot 69-73 over the first two rounds of play. His 77 the final round was just enough to withstand a surge from Jarryd Dillas. Dillas closed with a final-round 71 to come from seven shots back and nearly pull off the amazing turnaround. Robert Vallis took third place, finishing two shots back. Elizabeth Parsons won the Ladies Championship after shooting rounds of 79-91. She finished three shots ahead of Tariqah Walikraam, who took solo second.
