Becca DiNunzio captures the Donna Andrews Invitational

The Virginia Tech player fired a final round 69 to take the title, while her teammate Emily Matthews tooks 6th and was low junior

Virginia Tech women's golfer Becca DiNunzio carded a 6-under 210 to capture The Donna Andrews Invitational at Virginia's Boonsboro Country Club. It was a good tournament all around for The Hokies. In addition to DiNunzio's first-place performance, incoming first-year Emily Mathews took sixth at 1-under 215. Mathews, a native of Mebane, N.C., won low junior honors at The Donna. Rising sophomore Morgan Ketchum tied for 25th at 11-over 227 to round out the three players from Virginia Tech that finished in the top 25. DiNunzio, who finished runner-up at this event in 2021, manufactured a final round, 3-under 69 to surge to the top of the standings. She made the turn on Tuesday at even-par 36 before rattling off four birdies in her first five holes on the back nine.
