Bearcat Invitational: Sebastian Moss wins by four shots, Chattanooga wins as a team

Moss shot a 6-under 65 in the final round to win his first career collegiate victory.

Sebastian Moss of University of Louisville, secured victory at the Bearcat Invitational with a remarkable performance, shooting 12-under with rounds of 67-69-65. He clinched the title with a comfortable four-shot lead over Connor McNeely, a sophomore at the University of Cincinnati, who posted rounds of 65-68-72 to finish 8-under at the Coldstream Country Club in Cincinnati, OH.

Moss, a junior, clinched his inaugural career victory, marking the first win for a University of Louisville player since Max Kennedy at the All-American last season. Moss's final round was the lowest round of the season for a Louisville player, securing him the tournament title.

Moss entered the final round trailing McNeely, the overnight leader with rounds of 65-68, by a margin of three strokes. In the final round, Moss maintained a flawless round, remaining bogey-free until the very end. His performance was further highlighted by a great finish, as he birdied the final three holes, ultimately securing victory with a commanding four-stroke lead.

In 2023, Moss, a towering golfer standing at 6 '2", has played in 15 ranked events, with six top-10 finishes to his name. Furthermore, he has garnered recognition as a GCAA All-American Scholar and has earned a well-deserved spot on the Academic All-ACC team.

In the team competition, Chattanooga, comprising Paul Conroy and Samuel Espinosa-Trueba, who secured third and fourth positions in the tournament, along with John Houk, Braedon Wear, and Garrett Engle, finished with an impressive eight-stroke lead. Chattanooga finished 14-under to get the win. In contrast, Louisville finished 6-under to earn the runner-up position in the tournament.
