Clemson secured the title with a team score of 1-under 575, finishing two strokes ahead of Chattanooga at 1-over 577 at the Battle of Briar’s Creek at Briar’s Creek at Johns Island, S.C.
Clemson shot rounds of 280-295, while Chattanooga shot rounds of 294-283, an 11-shot improvement from the opening round to finish just two strokes behind as the runner-up team.
Augusta finished in third place at 3-over, and Indiana finished in fourth place at 5-over.
In the individual competition, Ford Goldasich, a graduate student at Lipscomb, shot 4-under,securing a one-shot victory over Braedon Wear of Chattanooga and Andrew Swanson of Clemson, who finished as the runner-up at 3-under.
Goldasich carded rounds of 1-under 71 and 3-under 69 to clinch the title, while Wear shot rounds of 74-67 to equal Swanson, who posted scores of 66-75, resulting in identical total scores of 3-under par. Swanson's opening round of 6-under 66 also marked the season's lowest for the Clemson Tigers.
The 14 teams in the field played between eight and eleven holes on Monday on the par 72, 7,175 yards course before bad weather stopped play in the early afternoon. The teams finished the first round on Tuesday morning and then played the final round on Tuesday afternoon. The tournament was originally scheduled for 54 holes, 36 holes on Monday, and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
