Baltusrol's championship legacy grows with four future USGA Championships

USGA chief championships officer John Bodenhamer framed the announcement as a continuation rather than a return, noting that few clubs have played a larger role in the association's championship history and that Baltusrol has repeatedly proven itself capable of identifying deserving champions at every level. Club president Doug Rotatori called the run of events an extraordinary stretch for the membership.

A First for the Mid-Am

Baltusrol has hosted 16 USGA championships — seven U.S. Opens, four U.S. Amateurs, two U.S. Women's Opens, two U.S. Women's Amateurs and the 2018 U.S. Junior Amateur. That total ranks fourth among all American clubs, behind only Merion, Oakmont and The Country Club. Yet in 131 years, the club has never staged a U.S. Mid-Amateur. 2033 changes that.
