Astin Arthur wins the Southern Cape Amateur for his fifth title of the year

Astin Wade Arthur shot a second round 8-under 64 to secure the impressive fifth title and add to his impressive resume

Astin Wade Arthur from Mount Edgecombe, South Africa, secured a victory at the Southern Cape Amateur Open with a 9-under total of 207, following rounds of 71-64-72 at Plettenberg Bay Country Club.

Arthur held a three-stroke lead entering the final round after posting a tournament-low 64 in the second round and maintained his composure with an even-par 72 in the final round, remaining bogey-free for over 30 holes. He won by a two-stroke margin.

Ryan van der Klis finished as the runner-up with rounds of 71, 68, and 70, concluding the tournament at 7-under. The event attracted over 110 players in the men's section, with 61 advancing past the 36-hole cut.



In the women's section, 21-year-old Bobbi Brown from Cape Town claimed the title with a total score of 12-over 228, following rounds of 80-78-70. Zane Kleynhans finished in second place at 13-over.

Arthur's victory continues a stellar year, marking his fifth win in five months. His triumphs include the Duncan Baxter Cup, Western Province Amateur title in April, KZN Closed, and the MCB Indian Ocean Open in Mauritius, with his most recent being today's Southern Cape Amateur Open.
