The No. 2 ranked amateur in the world shot 66 in the second round in Portugal to grab a one shot lead over four others

PALMELA, Portugal — Ashley Chesters, of England, shot 66 on day two of the Portuguese International Amateur after an opening 70 to take a one-shot lead into the halfway point. He leads over four players — Peter Baek and Christoffer Bring of Denmark, Edgar Catherine of France, and Paolo Ferraris of Italy. The 72-hole event features a wide-ranging international field, including more than 10 European countries. Golfers are tested to Montado Golf Resort in Palmela, just outside Lisbon. Chesters, who finished in a tie for fifth in last year's event, is the No. 2 ranked amateur in the world according to the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com rankings thanks to a win in 2014 at the European Amateur, as well as three other top-five finishes. He kicked off 2015 with a top-10 (8th) at the South American Amateur in Peru.
