Arkansas regains Governor's Cup

Arkansas cinched the matches in the singles format earning a total of 23 points to Mississippi's 17

WEST POINT, MS (May 19, 2012) -- Mississippi hosted the 7th Annual Governor’s Cup Matches at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, MS. The MGA and ASGA (Arkansas State Golf Association) alternate hosting the annual matches. Each team has 20 members- 10 mid am players, 8 seniors, and 2 super seniors. Each match is worth one point. Arkansas took an early lead following the Four-Ball and Foursome matches, going into the Singles Matches, 11 to 9. They managed to hang onto that lead through Singles matches to take 11.5 points to Team Mississippi’s 8.5. Team Mississippi looks forward to the 2013 Governor’s Cup matches in Arkansas.
