The Arkansas women's golf team dominated the final round to win the 2025 Puerto Rico Classic at The Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
Arkansas shot 19-under with rounds of 292-280-273 and won by 13 shots. In even more impressive fashion, the Razorbacks started the final round at 4-under and seven shots back of Vanderbilt. A final-round 15-under 273 from Arkansas and 6-over 294 from Vanderbilt saw the seven-shot deficit turn into a 13-shot win.
Vanderbilt finished T2 with Ole Miss at 6-under. Northwestern finished in solo fourth place at 2-under, and Michigan State finished in solo fifth place at 3-over to round out the top five.
According to Arkansas Athletics, their tournament win streak started in early October of 2024 after a 31-stroke victory at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational.
Their lone appearance below the top of the leaderboard occurred at the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach, where they finished runner-up. The Razorbacks’ record against teams is currently 52-1.
In the individual competition, Maria Jose Marin of Arkansas won her second tournament of the season, shooting 9-under and winning by two shots. She carded rounds of 71-68-68 to secure the win.
Marin is currently ranked No. 6 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Rankings. She was a medalist at the 2024 U.S. Women's Amateur and won the 2024 Blessings Intercollegiate.
Rocio Tejeda of LSU finished in solo second place at 7-under, and Clarisa Temelo of Arkansas finished in solo third place at 6-under. Ashley Yun and Lauryn Nguyen of Northwestern finished in solo fourth and fifth place to round out the top five.
